The winner of the nineteenth annual Weeks Family Foundation scholarship is Steven Daniel Prendergast a June 2008 graduate of Starpoint Central School District. Steven is the son of Timothy and Jeanne Prendergast and resides at 7081 Bear Ridge Road North Tonawanda, NY.

Steven will receive $1000 a year for the next four years to study education at the University of Notre Dame.

Since inception the Weeks Family Foundation has distributed more than $55,000 to its’ scholarship winners.

R. Thomas Weeks, director of the Weeks Family Foundation, said the four-year scholarship was awarded on the basis of Steven’s class rank, extra curricular activities, school offices held, community involvement, employment accomplishments, recommendations and an essay on education.

Applications for the 2009 Weeks Family Foundation Scholarship will be available in the guidance offices of the Albion, Barker, Lockport, Newfane, Royalton Hartland and Starpoint High Schools November 10th or online by clicking here. The closing date for the application is February 27, 2009.
